Location

Our lovely, old farmhouse is hidden up a secluded country track just outside the hamlet of Adforton and is close to the borders of Shropshire, Herefordshire and Wales. It sits in an acre of tranquil gardens, nestled in the unspoilt countryside of the Wigmore Rolls and Shropshire Hills Area of Natural Beauty. A lovely, peaceful spot to relax and unwind.

Directions

Lower House is tucked away on a very quiet, unmarked, single track lane, so is not terribly easy to find!

It is situated just outside the village of Adforton, between Leintwardine and Adforton. It is within a few miles of the borders of Herefordshire, Shropshire and Wales. It is in Herefordshire, though has a Shropshire postcode of SY7 0NF.

This postcode of SY7 0NF covers the majority of the village of Adforton, so is not sufficient for locating Lower House using a SatNav.

The easiest way to find Lower House is using Google Maps, where it is marked as “Lower House B&B”.

If you are walking or cycling, it is also marked on the standard OS map as “Lower House”.

Otherwise -

Directions approaching from the South on the A4110 (Hereford, Leominster)

·        Drive through the villages of Mortimer’s Cross, Aymestry and Wigmore.

·        When you get to Adforton, continue on the A4110 all the way through the village.

·        After leaving Adforton, continue for 350 yards and then take the first turning on the left, signposted Walford B5430, Knighton and Brampton Bryan (A4113).

·        After 300 yards, take the first turning on the left onto an unmarked single track lane.

·        Follow this lane for 0.3 miles and you will find Lower House situated at the top of the hill on the left, after some farm buildings. Use the second driveway to park for the main house.

Directions approaching from the North on the A4113 (Ludlow, Craven Arms)

·        Approach Leintwardine from Ludlow on the A4113, and or from Craven Arms on the B4385.

·        Drive through the village of Leintwardine and leave on the A4113.

·        After ½ mile there is a junction to Knighton. Do NOT turn and continue on the same road towards Hereford, Leominster, Wigmore and Adforton, which then becomes the A4110.

·        After about a mile, before reaching the village of Adforton, take the first turning on the right signposted Walford B5430, Knighton and Brampton Bryan (A4113).

·        After 300 yards, take the first turning on the left onto an unmarked single track lane

·        Follow this lane for 0.3 miles and you will find Lower House situated at the top of the hill on the left, after some farm buildings. Use the second driveway to park for the main house.

Directions approaching from the West on the A4113 (Knighton)

·        Drive through the village of Brampton Bryan.

·        When you reach the village of Walford, take the second turning on the right, signposted Hereford (A4110), Leominster (A44) and Wigmore.

·        After 0.6 miles, take the first turning on the right onto an unmarked single track lane.

·        Follow this lane for 0.3 miles and you will find Lower House situated at the top of the hill on the left, after some farm buildings. Use the second driveway to park for the main house.
